Getting started (VPS)

VexaNode VPS are full-root KVM virtual servers with dedicated resources, in Frankfurt (Germany) and Miami (USA).

1. Order

Pick a location, OS and plan, then complete checkout. The server provisions in a couple of minutes and credentials arrive by email.

2. Log in over SSH

bash
ssh root@<your-server-ip>

Use the password from the email the first time. If you see a host-key prompt, confirm yes — it is a new server.

3. Secure it immediately

  1. Create a non-root user and give it sudo.
  2. Add your SSH key.
  3. Disable password login.

4. Reinstall the OS any time

Control panel → your VPS → Reinstall. You can switch between Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky, Windows and more. Reinstalling erases the disk — take a snapshot first.

5. Basic firewall

bash
ufw allow OpenSSH
ufw allow 80,443/tcp
ufw enable
