Uploading your bot

Prepare your project

  • package.json (Node) or requirements.txt (Python) must list every dependency.
  • Do not include node_modules/ or venv/ — the panel installs dependencies on start.
  • Do not include .env if the repo is public; use panel variables instead.

Upload

Zip (small projects)

  1. Zip the project contents (not the parent folder).
  2. Panel → Files → Upload → Unarchive → delete the zip.

SFTP (bigger projects)

bash
sftp user@node-xx.vexanode.gg -P 2022
put -r ./mybot/*

Set the entry point

Panel → Startup:

RuntimeTypical startup
Node.jsnode index.js
Pythonpython main.py
Javajava -jar bot.jar
Bunbun index.ts

Install dependencies

Most runtimes install automatically on start. To force it:

  • Node: npm install from the panel Console
  • Python: pip install -r requirements.txt

Keep it 24/7

  • Enable auto-restart (default on): if the process crashes, it comes back.
  • Use Schedules to restart nightly if your bot leaks memory.
  • Add error handling so a single failed API call does not crash the whole process.
