Connecting your own domain
You are not stuck with node-xx.vexanode.gg. Two options:
Option 1 — SRV record (keeps the port hidden)
Use this if your server is not on port 25565. Add to your DNS:
| Type | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
A | play | the VexaNode node IP from your panel |
SRV | _minecraft._tcp.play | 0 5 <port> play.yourdomain.com |
Players then connect to just play.yourdomain.com — no port needed.
Option 2 — plain A record
If you run on port 25565, a single A record is enough:
| Type | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
A | play | the node IP |
Players connect to play.yourdomain.com directly.
Cloudflare note
Cloudflare proxying must be OFF (grey cloud) for Minecraft traffic — the orange cloud only handles HTTP(S) and will break the connection. For SRV records, Cloudflare creates them as DNS-only automatically.
